  • Our Programs

Our after school program is different from other after school programs. Our focus is on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM). The program also offers health, nutrition, community service, entrepreneurship, and of course, recreation and sports. The Club provides youth an extra opportunity to practice and reinforce the skills and concepts they learn in school.

Each day, programs in our five core areas are offered, giving members access to activities related to Health and Life Skills, The Arts, Education & Career Development, Sports, Fitness & Recreation, and Character & Leadership Development.

  • Youth of the Year

Each year, we choose a teen that we think best exemplifies Club values and strong moral character to be the Youth of the Year. This teen will go on to compete at state levels for the chance to win a scholarship.

The Boys and Girls Club of Fitchburg and Leominster are pleased to announce Jakob S. as the 2021 Youth of the Year. Jakob will be representing our club at the State level competition next month. Jakob has been a member for the past 10 years where he has participated in STEM Mentor, Peer Mediation, Career Launch, Keystone Club, Junior Staff Program, and much more. He most recently received an internship through the club at Community Health Connections which opened other job opportunities for Jakob, giving him the opportunity to work at a COVID testing facility. Jakob is a great example of what it means to be a Boys and Girls Club member and we are honored to have selected him as our 2021 Youth of the Year!

  • Sports Leagues

BGCBL is a recreational basketball league open to boys and girls in the Juniors Division ages 10-12. Players in the Juniors Division must not turn 13 before January 1st, 2022, and must be at least 10 by January 1st, 2022.

Practices and games begin by the second week of January. Because of the size and structure of our league, special requests to match certain players together or with a specific coach cannot be accommodated, with the exception of siblings and the coach's children.

Registration is currently open for both our Junior and Teen Divisions. It is only $75 for each Current Club Member or only $85 for each Non-Club Member! The registration form is below.  Please send back to the address on the form or to Mio Mendoza at mmendoza@bgcfl.org
