Immersion Mentoring Program

The Boys & Girls Club of Fitchburg and Leominster’s Immersion Mentoring Program is structured as a small group mentoring relationship (1:4) with weekly meetings held for approximately 1 hour per visit. During those meetings, participants will utilize the Sea Research Foundation’s (SRF) Immersion Learning Program, actively engaging mentees in a hands-on science activity each week.

SRF’s Immersion Learning program is a proven academic enrichment program founded in 2002 by Dr. Robert Ballard to bring the exciting world of ocean science to elementary and middle school students in after-school programs, classrooms, and other learning arenas. Mentors will be matched with the Mentees for at least one calendar year beginning in January 2014.
