We offer embryology, or developmental science, in two different forms: Atlantic Trout and chickens. The Trout Egg Rearing Program is a cooperative environmental education program designed to promote an understanding of fisheries restoration & management and hands-on watershed stewardship through experiential learning. Members hatch and raise young trout and later release the fish in streams within the community.
In the spring, embryology is touched on again when local farmers donate chicken and duck eggs to the BGCFL. The kids have the opportunity to learn about different stages of the egg’s development, and help to raise the chickens once they are hatched. The chickens are then moved to the chicken coop on Club property.
